Background

On January 29th Wave announced a change to their pricing, introducing a paid plan and removing certain features from the free plan.

The most impactful feature removed (for me) was the automatic loading of bank activity. I run a couple of small non-profit community orgs on Wave and did not feel I could impose the new $16USD/month fee on these organizations.

But neither did I want to have to type in transactions or mess around with csv exports. So I created b2wapp (bank 2 wave app) to solve the problem for myself. And now I am offering it to a wider audience.

b2wapp uses Teller.io to download bank activity and Wave's API to upload that activity to Wave. Simple.

How this Works

  • Once you have registered you will add one or more Wave Businesses. Adding a business means authorizing B2WApp to access your business in Wave with certain permissions (most importantly, the ability to upload transactions).
  • For each business you can then connect one or more Bank / Credit Card accounts. You will tell B2WApp which Wave account to upload the activity to. You will also specify a start date for these uploads.
  • Thats it, you can then sit back and wait for your transactions to be auto-imported each day.
  • After 30 days your free trial will expire, and if you wish to continue you will need to purchase a subscription.

Pricing

We charge a flat fee of USD $20 per business per year. The first month is free, for you to try it out with no obligation and see if it is for you.

The USD $20/year price is set at a level to cover costs from Teller.io and hosting, and not much else besides. The objective here is not to make money but to allow those who would otherwise be put off by the paid plan to continue to get automatic bank integration for a more modest fee.
